What is
the Control Panel?
We include an online control panel to make
administration of your domain name easy. You can change
all the details associated with your domain name online, and
with no fuss. The control panel has been written by us
specifically for the administration of your domain names. top
How
do I use it?
You need to log on
first. It's simple, just enter your domain name as your logon
ID, and the password you gave us when you applied for your
domain name! Once you're logged in, it's simple, just change
what you like and click on Amend! Or if you want to leave it as
it is click on LOG OUT. top
What
details can I change?
It gives you complete control over your email and web forwarding, nameservers and if applicable your Nominet Tag. This means you can use it to transfer
your domain name to another ISP. Only change this if you wish to transfer your domain to another ISP - once you do this we will no longer be in control of your domain name. top
Can I change my nameserver settings?
Yes , it's easy. Just log on and make enter your new nameserver
details. (We need the names , rather than the IP addresses) .
Click on AMEND and that's it. This means you can host your
domain elsewhere , but still keep yourself in control of the DNS
and Tag settings. You can do this at any time , even straight
after you register the name. top
Can I transfer my
domain?
Yes , it's easy. For a UK name just log on to the control panel and change the
field named TAG. CAUTION: only do this is you have a new provider, and you know their TAG. We will not charge you to transfer your domain name. It's free! Note: new domain registrations cannot be transferred to another Nominet Tag (for UK names), or registry until 60 days have passed since the date of registration or renewal. You can of course still transfer your name by amending the nameservers, so you still have complete control over where you host your site.top
Do changes I make happen
immediately?
The changes you make
will appear immediately in our database, so if you log straight
back in you will see them! However it can take up to 12 hours
for the web server to refresh, so if you change your
arrangements, allow some leeway for them to take
effect. top
I can't
log in - what's going on?
Make sure
you are entering your domain name correctly. you don't need to
enter the 'www' part, simply your domain name and '.co.uk' or
'.org.uk'. If you have forgotten your password email us and
we'll reset it for you!
You must also have 'cookies' enabled in your browser. top
